Setting Up MobileHEAT

HEAT

MobileHEAT is a module of HEAT designed for use on a laptop. It places a local copy of the HEAT database on the laptop and allows the user to synchronize calls with the live system. Using MobileHEAT is just like using HEAT. Before you use MobileHEAT for the first time you must log into the live HEAT database and setup the MobileHEAT database

Log into HEAT

Log into HEAT with your username and HEAT password.

Note : If you log into a domain you will not be asked for a HEAT password.

Set up MobileHEAT database

HEAT will automatically setup a Mobile HEAT database for you. First use Windows Explorer to create a folder called MobileHEAT on your c:\ drive. Then go to the Accessory menu in HEAT and select Set up MobileHEAT Database...

This will bring up the MobileHEAT Setup window. Type in c:\mobileheat or click Browse... to select the folder you just created. Click OK.

HEAT will now copy the validation tables from the live database to an Access file in the folder you created..

Click OK when Setup Completes.

Note: If HEAT is setup to automatically log into the HEAT_SQL data source you will have to reset it. Go into Edit, User Preferences. Click on the Location tab. If the Default Data Source is filled in Click Clear. The next time you log into HEAT you will be prompted to choose a data source. Choose MobileHEAT to begin using the MobileHEAT client.

Instuctions for using MobileHEAT.
