1. You will interview with myself and the RD of the building that you
have requested. Should you request a building other than the one you are
in now, your current RD will be contacted as a source of feedback on your
performance.
2. Your interview will be your performance evaluation as well. You will
either be asked back, and will learn of your salary increment, or you
will not be asked back. Should you not be asked back, you will work out
the full semester, but your building of request will be open for new staff
recruitment.
3. Interviews will
begin in the second week of February. All decisions will be complete by
the final week of March.
Windows Update

A lot of problems in Windows can be solved by using the Windows Update
feature. This feature often goes unused. Windows update provides patches,
new software features, and drivers. It can't hurt to use it and show others
how to use it. Update works best in IE.
1. Go to Start > Windows Update.
2. IE will open. The page is an application which scans your computer.
3. If the latest version of update is not installed the user is prompted
to install it.
4. When the scan is done, you are presented, in the left frame, with the
list of updates.
5. There are 3 categories of update: critical, recommended, and drivers
- critical: patches designed to plug security holes and fix bugs
- recommended: updates to enhance usability and integrated software (Media
Players, etc)
- drivers: updates to hardware drivers and virtual device drivers.
6. Choose the updates to be installed. Some updates can only be installed
alone, some can be installed together with others. The site will tell
you what to do.
7. Click 'Install Now' for the installation. You will need to restart
the computer.
Uninstalling and re-installing adapters in XP
top
I've seen several case where a simple uninstallation and re-installation
of the network adapter in the XP device manager solved the student's connection
problem. This is sepecially true in cases where the adapter was the original
equipment in the machine. Always remember: If the adapter is an OEM card,
the system has its driver.
1. Right-click on My Computer. Choose Properties > Hardware
tab > Device Manager button
2. Expand 'Network Adapters' and choose the adapter in question.
3. Right click the adapter in question and choose 'uninstall'.
4. To re-install the adapter, click 'Action' in the main menu.
5. Choose 'Scan for hardware changes'. This has the effect of turning
the computer on with the new device in it.
6. Allow the detection and installation to take place.
