There is no meeting this
week. These are some tips you may find useful. Easy CD Creator (ECDC) 5.0 Platinum - A stability issue with Windows XP Some people may have installed Roxio Easy CD creator into Windows XP after they bought the computer, or had the application when they upgraded their system to XP. There is a known issue in such cases with Easy CD creator 5.0 Platinum and Windows XP where the software did not originally come with the system (as it does in Dells). The issue involves a piece of software called Take Two which is part of ECDC 5 Platinum and does backups. It does not work in Windows XP, and causes some stability problems. Roxio offers an update to ECDC on its website. You may download the update and install it on systems with ECDC 5.0 Platinum where Take Two is part of the application. - Click here to go to the update page. A new brwoser window will open. - Concern yourself only with the top update (Updates Easy CD 5.x.x Platinum to 5.3.1 SP4). - Click "download". - On the following page, choose the "download" link for English (unless the computer happens to operate in any of the other listed languages). - The download is 18.2 mb in size. - Once the file is downoaded, double-click it, and click the "Update" button. - You will have to reboot the computer. This update uninstalls Take Two, and installs several other fixes and additional drive support. It also installs Windows XP specific drivers. If you get a call from a student with system stabiliuty problems that seem to take place while burning cd's, check for the following: - Does the student
have Roxio ECDC 5.0 Platinum? Open the application and check the version
under the Help entry in the menu.
