 Important Information Regarding Time Zone Changes
Changes to Daylight Saving Time In August of 2005, the United States Congress passed the Energy Policy Act. The Energy Policy Act, among other things, changes the start dates and the end dates of daylight saving time (DST). When this law goes into effect in 2007, DST will start three weeks earlier on March 11, 2007 and end one week later on November 4, 2007.
Changes to Daylight Savings Time affecting Outlook Calendar Microsoft has released both a Windows update to fix your computer's built-in daylight savings time clock and an Office tool to fix any calendar appointments you have scheduled during these daylight saving time changed dates.
Administrative computers in the Secure Desktop program and Academic computers in the ASCI program have already automatically received the Windows update, but may still need the Office tool run for calendar items. You may see appointments now in your Outlook calendar that are 1 hour ahead beginning March 11.
Computer services will be running a tool on our E-Mail serversto update your calendars and fix this, but if you wish you may run the tool yourself right now by downloading it from

Daylight Saving Time Updatefor Windows XP Microsoft has release a patch for Windows to update the Time Zone settings in the Date and Time control panel. ASCI, Library,Computer Labs, Classroomscomputers, and Secure desktops users have this patch already installed. If you are not one of these groups and you would like your computer updates to be managed please call the Help Desk at x4567. Daylight Saving Time Updatefor Windows 2000 Microsoft has not released a patch for the Windows 2000 operating system. They have however compiled a list of registry entries that will correct the problem for Windows 2000 users. Use the attatched file to update your settings. Unzip it and run the DST2007Update_Win2k.cmd file.
