Email - Exchange - Calendar

Changes to Outlook to help speed up the mail system on campus.

You may have noticed that email has been a bit slow lately. Academic Computing has enabled cached exchange mode on ASCI and Library computersto help offload some of the overhead associated with having Outlook directly connected to the mail servers. We hope that by configuring the clients to run in cached exchange mode you will see significant improvement to the responsiveness of Outlook on your desk and lower the overall load on the mail system.

Cached Exchange Mode provides you with a better experience when you use a Microsoft Exchange account. A copy of your mailbox is stored on your computer. This copy provides quick access to your data and is frequently updated with the mail server.

If you have any questions just drop us a note .
