Information for students regarding the pilot on-line course evaluation process.

Update:
The Division of Economics & Business uses a different form for its course evaluations. If you are in a course with a prefix of ACCT, BUS, ECON, FINC, LAW, MGMT, MIS, MKTG or INTD (106, 107, 108), you will not find a link to the SPI course evaluation. Any faculty member teaching a course in this division, who wishes to evaluate his/her course, will distributing paper evaluations.

This summer the College is piloting use of an electronic, on-line course evaluation process. The Colleges Angel Course Management System, used by many faculty members, is the host site for this semesters course evaluations. All registered students have access to their courses via Angel regardless of whether or not a faculty member uses this resource.

It is very important that you take the time to evaluate your courses. The 21 questions on the Student Perception of Instruction evaluation will take only a couple minutes of your time to complete and, as a result of your evaluation, you will have provided valuable feedback about your course to the faculty member. You may access the evaluation from any computer connected to the Internet.

How do I find Angel?
On the Oneonta home page (http://www.oneonta.edu) click on the "Choose a Quick Link" dropdown box and select Angel. An alternative approach would be to select "Current Students" from the top menu followed by "Academics" and then Angel.

STEPS: Oneonta home page > Choose a Quick Link > Angel.

Where do I go to evaluate my course?
Once you have signed into Angel, select the course you want to evaluate from the current "Courses" listing. When the course window appears, click on "Resources," located in the top menu. Select the "Course Resources" tab and then the Student Perception of Instruction Course Evaluation.

STEPS: Angel > select a specific Course > Resources > Course Resources > Student Perception of Instruction Course Evaluation.

An EXAMPLE presenting these steps is available at http://helpdesk.oneonta.edu/spi

Evaluating a course.
The course evaluation time period for Summer Session I is from June 25 - June 30 (August 4 - 8 for Summer Sessions II & III). Any course evaluation you initiate during this time period remains active until you select the SUBMIT button. So, if necessary, you can start an evaluation and return to it at a later time.

Again, your input is important. Please take the time to provide your professors with an assessment of your course
