Creating a SUNY Oneonta Student User Account

How to Get Connected!



When creating an account at home

go to http://www.oneonta.edu/useradmin and follow directions below.

When using a computer in a computer lab on campus:

  • Sign on with username: (check login screen) password: ****** domain: Oneonta
  • A webpage will appear on the screen. Click the "New User Account" button

  • When prompted, put in your A# or your Social Security #, and your PIN#. (If you do not remember your PIN#, click the forgot PIN button and follow the instructions to reset it.)
  • After logging in with your A# and PIN# your username will appear, please write it down carefully so it remember it!
  • When prompted for a password, please create your password in compliance with our password complexity requirements. There is a link on the page for that information, but you can also see: http://www.oneonta.edu/technology/security/password.asp
  • If you would like to have your Oneonta email forwarded to a different email account, please fill in the "Preferred email address" with that email address.
  • Once you click "submit" your account will be ready to use within 10-20 minutes. Your Angel account for access to hybrid or online courses will be ready in about an hour.
  • When you are finished, please press ctrl/alt/del and choose "log off", when prompted again if you want to log off, click yes. If you dont do this, the computer will automatically log off in 10 minutes.
  • If you would like to check your email, go to http://mail.oneonta.edu
  • Your P drive is accessible via the web at http://tempest.oneonta.edu, when prompted for a username, make sure you type in oneontayourusername and then your password.
