What applications does TIPS support?
The SUNY Oneonta campus uses Microsoft Office 2007 as its main office suite. In addition, we support website creation with Adobe Dreamweaver. Therefore TIPS currently provides support for the following applications:
Microsoft Access 2007
Microsoft Excel 2007
Microsoft PowerPoint 2007
Microsoft Publisher 2007
Adobe Dreamweaver
Beginning the Fall semseter of 2009, TIPS will also offer support for the following video editing applications:
iMovie
MS Movie Maker
Adobe Final Cut Pro
Adobe Premier
In addition, TIPS, along with the Lab Consultants and Help Desk, helps to support the Video Capture Presentation room in the Technology center.
What kinds of support does TIPS provide to students?
Tips offers support that fits the varied learning styles of today's students. Whether you prefer to be tutored by one of our staff, or you prefer to learn by yourself, TIPS has resources to accommodate your needs. You may choose from the following tyoes of support:
Individual tutoring sessions, by appointment
Group tutoring sessions, by appointment (2 or more individuals)
How can I arrange support and tutoring through TIPS?
Scheduled Workshops: TIPS holds regularly scheduled workshops for Microsoft Office 2007 and for Adobe Dreamweaver. All students, from all classes are invited to attend these workshops.
Tutoring sessions (individual): Call 436-4TIP (4847) to arrange an appointment. A tutor will get in touch with you to finalize details. You may also request a session using our online form .

Walk-in: Just walk in to the TIPS office (the Technology Center in the basement of Milne Library) and ask us for help. We will try to troubleshoot your issue right there.
